D-Day May 6th

Nan: Ok, tomorrow is May 6th. Maaaaay 6th. Wednesday, a good day, May 6th. Unfortunately, on my calendar, there is a tiny entry stating, “Begin exercising re: Caro.”  Tomorrow, May 6th. Oh joy. I went to bed last night thinking about that tiny entry on my calendar.  I woke up this morning thinking about that tiny entry on my calendar.  I got out of bed groaning about that tiny entry on my calendar.  Caro and I chose that day because technically it is the first day she is allowed to exercise.  WHAT were we thinking?  We could have put it off until Monday, May 13th – everyone knows you are supposed to start a new fat loss program on Monday, right? Right!

I am going to have to go in and re-introduce myself to my treadmill and weights before tomorrow. They don’t remember who I am, I’m sure. I know who they are – they’ve been looming in my sunroom for a long time, not only waiting for me but plotting against me. They mock me as a failure. But I will show them! Tomorrow I WILL work out even if it is only for 5 minutes.

The thought for today is this: don’t put off until a Monday what you should be doing tomorrow. Prepare in advance to win – PLAN AHEAD to succeed. There will always be reasons why you can’t start taking better care of yourself. Always. There is never a perfect time to start doing something you really don’t WANT to do right now. Even if it is just a small thing, DO something today toward your goal. Something as small as purchasing that notebook you are going to write down in every bite of food that goes into your mouth. Just do something – even if it is just praying, “HELP ME GOD!”
