Luv – I Cross My Heart

The first time I met him, he asked me to type his resume.
The second time I met him, a few years later, he said hello from the doorway of a cubicle.
The third time I met him, he asked me to a Valentine’s Banquet.
The fourth time I met him, we shared cheese sticks and drank iced tea.
The fifth time I met him, he introduced me to French Silk pie.
The sixth time I met him, he walked in the door, knelt at my chair and asked me to marry him.
The seventh time I met him, he said, “I have something for you” and he slipped a ring on my finger.
The eighth time I met him, he asked if I minded and we stopped by to put a red rose on his late wife’s grave on our way to the Valentine’s Banquet.
The ninth time I met him, he said, “I do.”

And he did. 

After seven weeks. 

He crossed his heart, and promised to… and kept every one of those promises.  And then some.

In all the world, I’ll never find a love as true as his.

  1. I wasn’t in my twenties either when I met my husband. He proposed after just three weeks and we were married six weeks later. Despite the bumps we have come across since, I still get weak in the knees when he gives me that special smile.

  3. Gah. Absolutely loved this! I actually cried.

    The love you two have makes me incredibly happy. Being a 27 year old widow who found love again after my husband died, it’s nice to see someone else who found love when they weren’t expecting it, and in fact didn’t expect to ever find it again.

  20. The sixth time I met you, I became the happiest I had ever been and the most shocked because the fair damsel said yes. She was willing to accept me as her Knight. Next order of business was to slay all of the dragons and free the damsel. All I wanted was to be loved unconditionally and you have fulfilled my desire.
